Croonin' for Crohn's Performers

The following performers are scheduled to appear at Croonin' for Crohn's.

Forever Gold is an oldies band based in Bedford, Indiana. Known for their enthusiastic rock-and-roll, smooth harmonies, and energetic entertainment, Forever Gold became a local favorite after its members were part of the multiple sell-out performances of Good Vibrations in 2006. At Croonin' for Crohn's, Forever Gold will be performing some of the Good Vibrations favorites, as well as new, never before seen material.

JoAnna Kai Cobb

JoAnna Kai Cobb is a 6th Grade Math Teacher at Bedford Middle School in Bedford, Indiana; is the founder of JoKai CobbWebs; and organized Croonin' for Crohn's with her husband, Ed. A graduate of Indiana University and Olivet Nazarene University, she holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education. At Little Theatre of Bedford, JoAnna has performed in 16 plays and musicals. Roles performed include "Annie" in Annie and "The Narrator" in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She also performs the National Anthem at several regional events, including Indianapolis Indians games. JoAnna is a member of the band Forever Gold, whose members performed in the highly acclaimed Good Vibrations in 2006. JoAnna has suffered from Crohn's disease since April 2003.

Lisa Higgins

Lisa Higgins has been in the entertainment field for 25 years! She attended Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where she earned a Music Education Degree with a minor in theatre and communications. She has been in various singing groups, bands, stage productions and theatre troupes in her journeys. Her endeavors also included a side career in radio, doing voice-overs and commercial jingles. Lisa eventually set out to realize her dreams when she made a big move to Nashville, Tennessee with intentions of pursuing a career in the music industry. The Nashville Palace, The Blubird Café, Opryland, The Opryland Hotel, and even The Grand Ole Opry are just a few of the places where she could be found singing. She also sang her share of demos and backups in an effort to be recognized. As with many Nashville singers/wait staff, recognition came slowly. Her career took a small detour when she married and had three amazing boys. This career change remains the best decision she has ever made. Currently, Lisa resides with her family in Bedford, Indiana, where she proudly works at Oolitic Middle School (Go Bearcats!), in the Resource Department. She is also a member of the bands Long Branch and Forever Gold. Recently, she has been seen in the productions of Good Vibrations and Patsy Cline and Friends, where she had the honor of portraying the amazing Brenda Lee.

Brandon Pfeiffer

From his days leading the cello and acoustic guitar folk/rock duo, Certainly Rough, to his time spent singing cover tunes for the Petty Thieves, Brandon Pfeiffer has definitely had no trouble doing what he does best. He's spent countless hours playing pop, indie-rock, and alt. country tunes across the Midwestern United States, in addition to months spent in the studio writing, producing, recording, and remixing nearly any genre imaginable. He's been a songwriter for the last 15 years, a radio DJ for the last 12 years, and has run his own media production company for the last five years. After several short runs of acoustic and demo song collections, after producing and promoting records for several other artists, and after finally listening to the advice of friend (and drummer) Matt Jackson, Brandon Pfeiffer finally offers up his first full band solo studio album, Nothing Short of Now, produced by Don Chaffer (Waterdeep) and available now from Little America Records.

Whitney Thetford

Whitney Thetford, an Indianapolis native, began her singing career in High School Show Choirs, drama productions and The Indianapolis Children's Choir. Currently she shares her talents with audiences at The Coachlight Musical Theater in Nashville, Indiana. She has appeared there in over 25 productions. In the most recent production, she is the featured performer portraying the music legend "Patsy Cline". At the Little Nashville Opry in Nashville, Indiana, she holds the title of First Place Winner of the 2006 Regional Talent Contest. She is scheduled for three upcoming performances there in 2007. She's performed the National Anthem at regional events including Veterans and Memorial Day programs, and for Indianapolis Indians games. She is scheduled to sing the anthem for the Cincinnati Reds in Spring of 2007 as a result of being named "Redsfest Idol" at the Kahn's Redfest in Cincinnati, Ohio. When her busy work schedule and classes at IUPUI allow, Whitney also enjoys performing for benefits, conventions and weddings.

Lori Anderson

Lori Anderson began singing at age 7 and has been amazing her audiences ever since. At age 16, she became president and founder of a non-profit children's organization. For the next 19 years, Lori sang whenever and where ever the opportunity would arise; fairs, fundraisers, and talent shows—one of which took her to the state finals in her home state of Indiana. In 1991 she met producer/publicist Dick McVey in Nashville, Tennessee. She has played the circuit, raised a family, and run a business all while working towards one goal. And 15 years later, Lori's debut album Goodbye Town has been released and has received nationwide airplay on over 250 large and indi market radio networks, as well as in England and Australia. Lori has been featured three times this past year on the popular syndicated ConMan Radio show, and she will be going on tour in Summer 2007 in conjunction with the ConMan Radio show. Watch for her new music video "I Don't Play That Game" on cable and satellite networks and country music TV channels this summer. Although the road has been long and hard, she has no regrets in the twists and turns she has faced throughout this journey and hopes to use every road she has traveled as a lesson learned as she keeps on keeping on.

Andrew Hartman's Funtime Band

In 1972 James Kirkman was accused of a crime, the charges of which he could not be proven innocent. Continually on the move to avoid the long reaching arm of the law, Jim found solace in the arms of a multitude of women. Skip ahead to the year 2006 when Andrew Hartman, a product of one ladies kind assistance to Jim, locates his father and also Bill Turpen, another of Jim's children. Wanting to maintain a familial connection between them, the three men hit upon their common interest of music, forming the
Andrew Hartman's Funtime Band. As they struggle to become a family, they play the music that keeps them together and always stay at least one step ahead of the law.

Chuck Buttz

Chuck Buttz has been playing piano and singing since he was seven years old. This Bedford musician has been entertaining at a wide variety of events in Southern Indiana for the past 40 years. His variety of music includes jazz, blues, oldies, rock 'n roll, big band, and gospel. If it's music, Chuck can play it. His love of music and performing has taken him to most of the states in this country and also to Canada, Japan, the Philippines, and Canary Islands. While serving in the US Marine Corps, Chuck toured playing piano for various groups, including appearances on television and radio. While many of his past performances include "The Belle of Louisville" river boat, the "Mall of America" in Minneapolis, the "Galleria Mall" of Houston, and the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Milwaukee, he is currently playing selected engagements at the French Lick Resort and Casino. On the local scene, Chuck is currently pianist for the Nostalgia Jazz Band, the Nostalgia Jazz Quintet, Forever Gold, and is also pianist for the First Baptist Church of Bedford. Please sit back and let Chuck entertain you!

Chris Kupersmith

Chris Kupersmith has been playing music in Bloomington, Indiana, since 1989, when he moved there from Wichita, Kansas. He sang and played guitar in Fabric and Uvula, and now playa guitar for Gentleman Caller and performs his own songs solo.

Stephen Roberts

Stephen Roberts has been one kind of musician or another since the fifth grade, when he was told by someone much smarter than him that he should play the trumpet. "Well, why argue with experience?" he thought. So he played the trumpet pretty much non-stop until he graduated high school. Stephen started singing somewhere along the way, mainly in church. Since then, he has let his trumpet playing lapse into nonexistence. That was a big mistake because he really enjoyed playing. But Stephen's passion is singing. His favorite artists, this week anyway, are Josh Groban and Harry Connick Jr. He has been in a couple of stage productions including the Little Theatre's presentation of Jesus Christ Superstar, where he played Judas Iscariot. He is currently a member of Community Baptist Fellowship and is proud to be a vocalist in the greatest praise band of all time. Stephen is also involved with the technical side of music. He frequently works with Jay Black, Owner of Blacklight Entertainment, and Al Hamilton of Hamilton Systems. Jay, incidentally, is providing sound for "Croonin' for Crohn's." Stephen has recently acquired a small sound reinforcement rig of his own and is in the process of starting a pro-audio business (Insert commercial here). Some of his other interests are computer repair, movies, and he is completely and hopelessly addicted to radio controlled airplanes and helicopters (donations for addiction maintenance accepted).
